Cailin Melka: SEL
I am here to help the district have a better understanding of the SEL practices that are currently being implemented in each building and how can we better align them. Through observations and conversations with teachers, we hope to develop a thorough understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each building's SEL practices at the Tier 1-2 level.Cailin Melka: SEL
Additionally, my role is to support teachers with the implementation of current SEL standards and behavior management strategies for the classroom. My personal goal is to help teachers feel comfortable and confident in their behavior management skills and ability to independently use SEL strategies at the Tier 1 level. Debbie Jenkins: Literacy
I am happy to collaborate with individuals, small groups or teams of teachers around student outcomes in literacy. What may be especially useful are mini-coaching sessions around students we co-teach. Using student data and working together to develop Tier 1 supports along with coordinated Tier 2 supports then re-analyzing after implementation is particularly beneficial. Maggie Doherty: Literacy
I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with teachers around student outcomes in literacy. I am available to work with a learning team to think about a particular learning target. I also would love to work with individual teachers in a mini-coaching cycle (meet a couple times and co-teach a lesson). Please stop by or email me to set up a time.
Luanne Kowalke: Literacy
I am here to collaborate with you to help you reach your goals for students. We will examine student evidence to determine the outcomes you would like to address for your students. We can do this through coaching cycles, mini coaching cycles, and impact teams. Our work together is not limited by literacy studio schedules; we can work together in any subject area. Rachael Weeks: Differentiation
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you to differentiate instruction in your classroom in any subject area. I would love to work with individual teachers, teams, or other groups as driven by student data to improve student learning and increase engagement in the classroom.
Gay Dodge: Math
As a math coach I will:- Meet with individuals, teams or groups to analyze students’ needs based on pre assessment data.
- Focus instruction on grade level learning standards, targeting students’ most pressing needs.
- Follow the concrete, pictorial, abstract progression.
- Collaboratively plan, implement and assess co-teaching lessons to achieve intended outcomes.
- Provide resources and strategies to enhance math instruction.
- Reflect collaboratively on the effectiveness of the lessons based on the student outcomes.
Ronit Shapiro: District 28 Tech Coach
I am here to help teachers plan for and incorporate technology into the classroom. Tech in the classroom should allow students to create products, reflect on their work, and engage with authentic audiences in ways that would be impossible without technology. This can be done in every subject area! Together, we will develop learning targets specific to the needs of your students. I am also always available to help problem solve technology issues in the classroom.
